North American based, fixed income asset allocators, were provided a long-awaited present in mid-March, as the US Federal Reserve hiked interest rates to 1% to hold off rapid inflation. However, despite a boost for treasury notes, interest in alternative fixed income strategies has remained untouched, as pension plans, insurers, foundations, and other institutional investment groups seek diversified sources of returns, providing ample reason for innovative fixed income fund managers to remain positive.

This is the 3rd annual report where US and Canadian asset owners come together to discuss the challenges faced in maximising returns in a yield constrained environment, the pay-offs and hurdles to increasing interest rates, effects of US and emerging market economic policies and outlook for further fixed income market innovation.
